BCCI vs Players

I have heard and read that the BCCI has not paid its players for the last 7 months. Agreed the players in India are the richest but this is absolutely shocking. This is not the way to treat your employees . You dont pay their dues for 6 - 7 months and expect them to perform. This sort of behaviour does not befir the " World's Richest Sports Body".

BCCI is ultilising this opportunity (poor performance in World Cup) to extract its pound of flesh from the players by reducing their pay and not going for the graded contract. I think the BCCI has to get its house in order if it wants to develop a world beating team. Greg Chappell was dead right when he said that you cant expect team like Australia and run your cricket like that of Zimbabwe.

The courts of this country should intervene in the functioning of all the sports bodies and make sure that it is professionally run. No politician should be allowed to enter any sporting body. Only ex-players and professionals should run the sport.

KPS Gill, Priyaranjan Das Munshi, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Arun Jaitley have never represented India in international sports . I dont think they have even played national level. But they are all presidents of leading sports bodies. KPS Gill has singlehandedly bought Indian hockey down from the golden days to now when we finish last or secondlast in World Cup.

Mr Pawar and Mr Lalit Modi. I think Indian cricket would go the same way if we do not understand the situation and proffesionalise the management. I dont think the preofessionlisation of management is something that I will see in my life time.
